Pre –School Practitioner


18.5 hours per week

Monday to Friday term time only


£8,680.20 per annum


NVQ3 in Early Years, NNEB or equivalent.

Experience and working knowledge of the Early Years Statutory Framework is essential.

Kingsgate Community Centre provides a wide range of services for Under 5s and their parents/carers, including a Pre-school facility that provides separate morning and afternoon day care for children aged 2 to 5 years old, drop in and a crèche pool services.

We are looking to recruit a pre- school practitioner level 2/3 to join our team to assist in the smooth running of the pre-School and to ensure that excellence in childcare is delivered.

Practitioners will have sound knowledge of child development between the ages 0 – 5 years and will share responsibility for observing children, planning and evaluating daily activities. A strong understanding of safeguarding procedures and the ability to apply it to every day practice to maintain the wellbeing and safety of the children is essential.

The pre-school is currently aiming towards raising boys engagement in the literacy and maths areas of learning development and are seeking candidates with a strong related background and knowledge.

The successful applicant will need to show a strong commitment to best practice and a firm understanding and practical experience of implementing the EYFS.  Good oral and written skills which allow for sensitive and professional communication with parents, staff and outside agencies is essential. Candidates should be able to demonstrate confidence in using I.T. programmes such as Microsoft Word to support completion of children’s EYFS profiles. In addition to the ability to work as an effective part of an enthusiastic and vibrant team, putting the best interest of the children will be at the forefront of all that you do.
